短評：林子祥的《妳在何方》是兩首很動聽的歌。兩首？對，真的是兩首！最明顯的當然是改編自Janis Ian的《The Other Side of the Sun》，整首歌的主旋律都是這曲。但《The Other Side of the Sun》沒有《妳在何方》開頭這段：「夢已完 努力修好也徒然 默默地滴著淚 仰首望向前 望向前 多麼遠」，那這段是什麼歌呢？

《一個人》大碟的封底有提示：《妳在何方》的作曲人是Albert Hammond, Janis Ian and S. Bishop，而S. Bishop就是唱作《On and On》而紅的Stephen Bishop。仔細聽聽，《On and On》的副歌像不像《妳在何方》的開頭和結尾？Bingo！當然，阿Lam有少許改動，否則怎能把兩首歌湊合得那麼自然（後來他還把另外兩首歌合成為《每一個晚上》，容後再談）。

談談鄭國江的詞。「望著巨浪 但願去海的一邊找新的一頁 明朝她早起仍難料到 我告別不言 共聚實在浪漫 我今天心中忽感厭倦 求心境和平寧靜 我天邊飄遠」。歌詞是說歌者一聲不響地離開了伴侶，過新的人生。好像很不負責任，是一個負心漢的行徑。但歌名是《妳在何方》，似乎反而是伴侶已變得陌生，人在心卻不在。與其因慣性而留低，不如離開另覓新天地。

要準確詮釋這首歌的真義，卻要待電影The Truman Show《真人Show》的出現。戲內的Truman Burbank在虛假的世界活了30年，終於發現了真相，要出海離開這個大牢籠：「冒著巨浪 冒著惡風 輕舟中找到新的體驗 晨升的光輝如紅日照 我心中安然」。要離開熟悉的世界，一點也不容易。但巨浪惡風的阻擋，導演苦口婆心的遊說，都搖動不了Truman的決心。

「舊事就像做夢 這刻心中輕鬆不感睏倦 能完全和平寧靜 找不到一絲怨」，「夢已完 努力修好也徒然」。當一個人完全醒覺，找到真正目標，面對困難時真的是可以輕鬆無怨的。正如Truman臨離開前瀟灑地說："In case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night."
