短評：要選葉振棠最動人的歌，相信很多人都會選《笛子姑娘》。動聽的旋律、悽怨的笛聲、唏噓的歌詞、深情的演繹，令這首歌甫面世已感動無數人。但原來它不只是一首畫面唯美的情歌，要到好些年之後，林振強才說出真相：這首歌的歌詞其實是他獻給患癌早逝的胞妹林雁妮的。大姊林燕妮曾寫道：「弟弟在醫院裡陪她，默默地寫了《笛子姑娘》，沒有告訴我，沒有說過一句話」。所以它既是情歌（兄妹情），也是輓歌。
林振強真的很會說故事。與其他詞人比較，他寫的詞更具故事性，畫面感更強，聽眾更易代入歌中角色。《笛子姑娘》是他很早期的作品，自然有沙石（既然是「一個風雪晚上」，怎麼還「夜靜裡」？），但仍感人至深，是一首不可多得的好詞。對他自己來說，這是一首悼念至親的悲歌，日後他再寫了《夢之洞》和《月亮神》，延續他對亡妹的思念。
關於《笛子姑娘》，實在有太多東西可以寫，但寫得好的大有人在，不妨看延伸閱讀。我嘛，還是喜歡翻譯歌詞，獻醜了。
